Guarantee
Guaranteed for ten years, in writing
A guarantee is only worth the detail behind it. So here is exactly what we cover, what we don’t, and what happens when you call us in year seven.
Structure and weathertightness
The frame, foundations, roof and cladding, plus anything that lets water in that shouldn’t. Ten years from the date of your completion certificate.
Workmanship
Anything we built, fitted or connected that fails because of how it was installed rather than how it’s been used. Ten years, in full.
Electrical installation
The circuits, consumer unit and certified electrical work we carried out, covered for ten years and backed by our NICEIC registration.
Manufacturer-backed items
Glazing units, heaters, projectors, launch monitors and sauna controls carry their own manufacturer warranties, typically 2 to 10 years. We register them for you and hold the paperwork.
What the guarantee doesn’t cover
Every guarantee has exclusions. Most companies bury them on page nine. Ours fit on a postcard.
Aftercare, and how a claim actually works
A 12-week check-in
We come back three months after handover, once the building has been through a season of use. Small adjustments, like a door catch or a bit of settlement, get sorted then, unprompted.
A named person, not a portal
Your project manager stays your contact for the full ten years. You call the same number and speak to someone who remembers your build.
Five working days
That’s our commitment to attend a guarantee claim, or sooner if water is getting in. We’re twenty minutes away, not a national call centre.
Insurance-backed
Extensions, lofts, golf rooms and saunas carry an insurance-backed structural guarantee, so the cover stands even in the unlikely event we’re no longer trading.
Need to make a claim?
Call the office on 01202 555 341 or email hello@thicketts.co.uk with your address and a photograph. We’ll be with you inside five working days, or the same day if water is coming in. Full terms are in your handover pack and in our terms and conditions.
