Thicketts is an independent, family-owned builder of garden rooms, home extensions and loft conversions across Dorset. No call centres, no subcontractor roulette, no hard sell. Just a team that turns up, does careful work, and cleans up after itself.
Our story
Thicketts started in 2011 with one carpenter, one van and a simple belief: that building work doesn’t have to be stressful, overpriced or full of surprises. Word got around, the team grew, and today we design and build hundreds of garden rooms, extensions and loft conversions for Dorset families, still with the same care we started with.
We’re still family-owned, still local, and still run the whole job in-house, from the first sketch and the fixed quote to the final coat of paint. When you call, you speak to the people who’ll actually be on site.
Fixed prices, kept
The figure we quote is the figure you pay. No day-rate creep, no “while we’re here” extras. Just the honest price we agreed, fixed once we’ve surveyed.
One team, start to finish
Design, groundwork, build and finishing are all handled in-house by our own Dorset team. One project manager who knows your name, and no subcontractor blame games.
A tidy site, every day
We protect your home and garden, sweep up each evening, and leave the place cleaner than we found it. Most customers say they barely knew we were there.
